Most young people are excited about turning 13 (becoming a teenager) or 17 (able to drive a car) or 18 (allowed to vote, or probably more likely drink or watch a scary movie), but Tara Herm, our most recent BTK recruit, is excited about turning 12. Why 12? Because she can now drive adult karts at Teamsport. And she's been chomping at the bit to do it ever since she outgrew the cadet karts.
I don't think I've seen anyone so excited about karting. As well as brushing shoulders with Jamie Chadwick and Abbi Pulling, she seems to have had a go at everything, and is lined up to do a tonne of karting all over the place this coming week.
I watched her at Teamsport Mitcham this evening, and it was hard to believe it was her first time in an adult kart. She was smooth and consistent, and got steadily faster and faster as the night progressed.
With new race suit in her favourite colour, and Ferrari painted finger nails (her Dad said they couldn't get Mercedes black), she was the one to watch, and clearly she was ready for these adult karts a while ago. No wonder she was excited about today. Forget 13, 17 and 18, turning 12 is the biggest big day.
Love it. Thank you Clive 😍
